Another option is to send the DTS streams (as stereo) directly to a surround amplifier, and let the surround amplifier decode the 2 channels into 5.1 surround. This will not work with some sound cards (since some sound cards tamper with the sound output).

I thought this would only work if the link from the soundcard to the amplifier was digital. If so, the page should say so. Martin.leese 10:06, 23 July 2007 (EST)
