[edit] Playing back Ambisonics

Ambisonic players are available for most platforms (Win, OSX, Linux). Since Ambisonic files can be played back on any number of speakers, some of the players offer a more options than standard audio players (such as allowing you to chose 2, 5.1 or 20 surround speaker playback).

Ambisonics is an extremely versatile audio technology used by many engineers and artists to produce everything from stereo, to 5.1 to binaural to true multi-channel surround.

The recent upsurge in interest in Ambisonics has led to more tools being developed, from microphones, to software editing plugins for use with popular DAWs.
