AU is an acronym for Audio Unit, which is a software "plug-in" format that is used by software Digital Audio Workstations (or DAWs), running exclusively on Apple Mac OS X, in order to perform operations on audio data. (See the Wikipedia article here.)

[edit] Ambisonics AUs

  • Aristotel Digenis - An Ambisonic plug-in suite for Mac OS X only, as a PPC binary. They were done as part of his MSc final project in 2004 and are no longer maintained.
  • B2X plug-in suite - For Mac OS X only, universal binaries (PPC & Intel), also in VST. Assortment of first, second and fifth order spatial resolution encoders (panners), transcoders, processors and decoders.
