Alternative "Shelf Filters" (mis-named)

Here's something that I've had knocking around as an idea for a while.

I /could/ make this up fairly easily in Audiomulch but it would take (me) a couple of days, and then I'd want a nice regular speaker set-up on which to test it, which I just don't have.  Perhaps I should do the audiomulch contraptions anyway and then let people try it. 

It's not very scientific, but then neither was cowpox vaccine.
